COURSES & FACULTY
The Master 2 English and North American Business Law forms uses a comparative approach to train students in English and North American business law. This training has several specificities.
First, the teachings are provided in the English language. When choosing to write a “mémoire”, students are also encouraged to write it in English. This allows them to develop their language skills, indispensable when mastering a foreign law. Its usefulness is, today, indisputable in terms of research and legal practice, especially in business law.
Secondly, the teachings are provided by renown French, English and American professors with backgrounds in English and/or American law coming from the world's leading universities. In the classroom, professors are encouraged to use the methods and notation systems used in their home university in order to introduce students to other forms of teaching, including the Socratic and other interactive methods.
Furthermore, this program allows an important intellectual openness towards other disciplines, such as philosophy, legal epistemology, or the history of law in Common Law countries.
Finally, this program combines practice and theory by giving students concrete examples of how Common Law operates as well as the methodological tools needed to understand and compare legal systems.

HCERES EVALUATION
NOTE : A
"The pedagogical project articulates knowledge of English and American law, and cross-cutting skills in both courses. English is thus a working language. The partnership with American universities allows some students, through a scholarship system, to continue their training in LL.M after graduation. The educational project thus appears to be of excellent quality. The teaching team is excellent: internationally renowned, it also has several guest teachers."
